IT WAS ‘ABOUT DAMN TIME’ PH-1 PERFORMED IN TORONTO
BY BRENESSA ROACH | FEBRUARY 5 2023
This past Friday, February 3rd, Korean-American rapper pH-1, a.k.a Harry performed for the first time at the Phoenix Concert Theatre in Toronto. This was the eighth stop on his 12 city North American ‘About Damn Time’ tour which started on January 23rd in San Francisco. He was accompanied by DJ Spray and the opener Ted Park.
The venue’s capacity is 1,350 people and this show was completely sold out. Fans lined up super early in -30 degrees celsius weather just to secure a spot close to the stage. I arrived at the venue 2 hours before VIP doors which was at 5:30pm and I was able to secure a spot in the 3rd row from barricade.
The opening act Ted Park kicked the night off with a 30 minute set of I think 7 songs, accompanied by a DJ. The released songs that I remember him performing are; “Adore You, Dior You” and “Over n Over” which was actually released at midnight on the day of the concert. He also performed a cover of “Dance Like Jay Park” and the unreleased songs “Butterfly” and “1-800” which I believe he said is coming out in March. Prior to this concert, I had only listened to about 4 or 5 of Ted’s songs, but he is a great performer who is really engaging with the audience and he has a very precious and bubbly attitude.

pH-1 came out on stage at 8:25, opening with his song “MEET N GREET” and let me tell you, the build up of this song was the perfect way to open the concert, especially with the smoke effect they had on stage. I am not going to list every single song performed in this article but, I’m going to link a playlist at the bottom of this article with the full setlist from this day.
Overall, pH-1 is insanely talented and his stage presence is literally fire. This concert was the first time that I was at barricade and it was really special because pH-1 engages with the crowd A LOT and maintains eye contact with the audience which is really cool. His concert honestly felt like a party and I loved every second of it.
In general, my favourite songs of his are “ZOMBIES”, “JULIETTE!”, “Homebody”, “Nerdy Love”, “TIPSY”, “YUPPIE TING” and “iffy” but I seriously loved every song performed and every performance was top tier. Also huge shoutout to DJ Spray who accompanied pH-1 on stage, he was also killing it.
During the show, pH-1 took 3 polaroid photos and gave it to 3 fans in the crowd, which was really sweet and special. Additionally, he asked everyone to hold up their signs/posters if they had one and he talked about it which was a funny and engaging moment.
Lastly, I just want to say that I have been a fan of pH-1 since I got into Korean hip-hop/rap music around 2018 and it was so surreal to finally see him live. I’ve also seen every single Get Real podcast episode with pH-1 and he is 100% the same person on camera and off camera. He’s so funny, sweet and overall just super talented. I really hope he comes back to Toronto considering that this is only his first world tour and it’s just the beginning.
I highly suggest seeing pH-1 live if you are a fan of Korean rap/hip hop music. He does have three shows left of the North American tour in Orlando, Seattle and Vancouver. These shows are not sold out yet so get a ticket while you can. As well, he is going on an Asia tour in March to Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, Taipei, Bangkok and Hong Kong.
