MONTHLY MIXTAPE: MARCH 2024

Where is the time going? How is it already the end of March?! Anyways, this month we loved a lot of songs and it was hard to narrow it down. However, we decided to share our top 16 songs of the month. Some of these songs were released at the end of the February, but we enjoyed it a lot throughout March and some songs released in March. Hope you find a new song or artist through this blog.

Release Date: February 23rd, 2024
“energy gave me a chance” is Townewest’s pivot into the hip-hop genre and with this song, it definitely is a genre they need to do more of. This song is so fun and Riccy DeLeon’s Spanish verse was constantly stuck in my head. Through this song, I got introduced to Riccy DeLeon and have become a fan of his music since then. Make sure you check out this song, it’s a really fun, summery type of song.

This album was pretty good, but “Moon Tour” was on repeat the whole month of March. I absolutely love the soft vibes of this song. TAEYONG’s voice is incredible and the lyrics for this song are so pretty as well.

I am a big fan of DEAN and in recent years, I have become a fan of Tabber so, this collaboration was definitely a hit. This song is so fun and it really showcases both Tabber and DEAN’s similar, yet different styles. I definitely want to hear more collaborations from these two as they are so musically and lyrically talented. Also this cover art is slightly frightening, but I love it.

I discovered this song and noah. through I believe it was Avry or harper through their Instagram stories. noah. is so talented and I love his style of music – it’s very much the genre I love. I think this song is so vibey and it definitely made me a fan of noah. and I’m very excited to hear what else he releases throughout the year.

Patrick Hizon and Notkyle are two artists I really enjoy listening to so, this collaboration was a surprise for me, but it was definitely much needed. I absolutely love this song and the overall vibes of it. I think Notkyle and Patrick Hizon’s musical styles and voices mesh really well together and I hope in the future they make some more songs together.

I absolutely love teo glacier, he is someone that I started listening to last year and every song is a hit. This song is so beautiful and really hits you in the feels. I would love to hear a teo glacier album and hear him live one day!

When I tell you this is my 5th most played song of the month, I am not lying. I discovered Riccy in February prior to the release of “energy gave me a chance” (thank you Townewest). I love this song so much and it’s been stuck in my head constantly. Definitely one of my favourite songs by Riccy (so far, that I’ve listened to) and I hope he makes more songs with this vibe because it really suits his voice.

I don’t even know if I have to explain this one, but I will. Ariana Grande, my queen, she absolutely dropped this beautiful song and album and I had it on repeat all month. Every song on her eternal sunshine album is a no-skip, but this song hit me so hard. I think this is one of my favourite songs now and I will be singing it forever. It’s so beautiful yet heartbreaking and I think it really shows her emotions and vocal range. If you have not listened to this song or album, please do immedietly.

This song was such a surprise to ARMY and it was definitely such a good release! The music video and the song are so beautiful with the production, the lyrics and the overall concept. V always has a cinematic concept/style and that was definitely show throughout the music video. The song is very upbeat even though it has meaningful/deep lyrics.

hevel is an artist I have been listening to since 2021 and I’ve gotten to know them since last year. Their music is insanely amazing and each song has such a different vibe. Last month, we featured their song “don’t you think we’ve done enough now?” which has a more indie-rock ish vibe compared to this song “lotus flower” which is still in the indie-rock ish genre but also has some alternative and hyper-pop elements in it. I really like whatever this new genre/style is for hevel and their lyrics always are so lovely.

I love jake $ing’s music and I think this is one of my new favourite songs from him. As soon as I listened to it when it released, I knew it would make it in my top played songs for the month. I love how soft this song is with the piano production, the sweet lyrics and his melodic voice. The chorus is so beautiful with the string kind of synth and the vocal layers – it gives me chills.

This was another collaboration I did not know I needed until it happened. I love both yuji and Ethan Low’s music. Their style of music and voices really meshed well together. I love the production of this song by MFMF.. This song has a very chill R&B vibe, but it’s also has that spicy vibe to it. Definitely would love to hear more collaborations between these two.

This was such a good release and seeing it live made me more excited for this release! Definitely this is one of Koven’s best releases (all of his releases are amazing though), I just think this style is very him. I also just love Koven’s artistic vision for his cover art and his overall brand. AMAZING SONG and I love the title.

Oh my gosh, I have been waiting for this song for I don’t even know how long. BNZA had been teasing this song on TikTok for months and all my friends know how much I needed this song prior to the release, so when it released this month, you bet that I replayed it over and over. It’s now my number 1 song for the month after 6 days so, that says something. Honestly though, this is a top song for me from BNZA’s discography. I will never get over this song and I need BNZA to make more songs in this genre. The lyrics also hit so hard.

I am a big fan of NCT DREAM and I was so excited for this album! A lot of the songs had to grow on me but “Breathing” was an instant hit for me. I love when NCT DREAM has soft, mellow songs with beautiful lyrics. “Breathing” is so calming like the title implies and I think the members voices and ranges are really shown well throughout this song.

Everyone knows that j-hope is my bias in BTS so, of course one of his songs had to make it to my monthly mixtape playlist. This album came to us as a surprise and it was so amazing that j-hope prepared so much content and songs for us while he’s serving in the military. I loved every single song on this album HOPE ON THE STREET VOL.1, but “i wonder…” was one of my favourite songs because Jung Kook was also on it. I miss BTS so much so having these two collaborate for this song made me so so happy.
