ALEX PORAT HAD FANS IN TORONTO “LOVESICK”

On April 12th, 2024, Toronto based Alt-Pop singer and songwriter Alex Porat performed at The Axis Club for her “Lovesick” Tour which followed her EP Lovesick that came out in October 2023. Toronto based Alt-Indie Pop band New Friends joined her as the opening act.

New Friends started the night off a little after 8PM with their single “Sad Sugar”. New Friends is an Alternative/Indie-Pop band from Toronto consisting of; Conrad Galecki, Cole Wilson, Stefan Boulineau, Ayden Miller and Nico Elias. Right from the beginning of their set to the end, New Friends energy was spectacular! Stefan especially has such an amazing stage presence as he interacts with the crowd and makes sure to interact with every section of the stage.

We have been listening to New Friends since June 2022 when we first saw them at Canadian Music Week. Since then, their stage presence and confident has grown so much. Our favourite song from their set was “Find You” which happens to be our all time favourite song from them. We also enjoyed seeing “Purple Candy” live again as this is their hit song with over 8.4 million streams on Spotify.

If you get a chance to see New Friends live, we 100% recommend seeing them!

Alex Porat came on stage at 9PM and she was so pretty and her voice is amazing. We have been fans of Alex since 2021 so, it was amazing to finally see her live. Her stage presence is insane. She dances while having such strong vocals and she also plays guitar. She is super fun to watch and we love how she spent a lot of time interacting with fans.

Alex performed some of her hit songs such as; “happy for you”, “Sensitive”, “Pity Party” and one of our personal favourites on her Lovesick EP “Bar Is On The Floor”. Alex also performed her Spotify single version of “Hopelessly Devoted To You” which is originally performed by Olivia Newton John. Additionally, she also covered “All I Want” by Kodaline and “You Belong With Me” by Taylor Swift – which was a crowd favourite of course.

Alex Porat’s encore song was “HATELOVE” which is the national anthem for Alex Porat stans. This song had the crowd going wild. Alex is so talented and her lyricism is amazing and so relatable. We really hope we can see Alex Porat again in the future.
