In this article, we will share 4 artists that create music in the alternative-chill genre. These artists all have different sounds as they incorporate different elements and genres into their music. We hope you find yourself supporting some or all of these artists.

Townewest is a boyband from Los Angeles consisting of Jonum and Bouquet. They also recently added a new member Gio, who is their drummer. They released their first singles “Softspoken” and “Softspoken Pt. 2” on December 15th, 2022. “Softspoken” is their most popular song with a little over 6.5K streams on Spotify. Followed by “Softspoken”, they released the song “BIG HEAD” on January 26th, 2023. This song was in collaboration with Bachyard Ghost. Both “Softspoken” and “BIG HEAD” were pre-release tracks for their first album Save Sara which came out on February 14th.
In May, Townewest released their instrumental album Garden Audience and we actually did an interview with them around this time, read it here. On July 27th, Townewest released the single “sunburn”.
On August 11th, Townewest performed together for the first time at CLUB BOYBND’s headline show “CLUB BOYBND & FRIENDS”. They also released the single “spider!” on the 15th. This was the second pre-release track for their latest album before it’s too late which was released on September 22nd.

Britton Rauscher is an Alternative Hip-Hop artist from Columbia, South Carolina. He debuted on February 26th, 2020 with the single “Out the Mud”. Followed by that single, he released “FIG NEWTONS” on August 21st. This is his second most popular song with over 214K streams on Spotify. Both those singles were pre-release tracks for his debut album KRENKO which came out on October 2nd. In 2021, he released three singles; “BABY BOY” in March, “Call Before You Come” in September and “NOBODY’S SMILING” in December.
His first single of 2022 was in March with the release of “HVNSNT”. This song was in collaboration with DJ Mykael V and Foggieraw. As well, this song is his most popular song with over 227K streams on Spotify. Followed by “HVNSNT”, he released “ARRIVE” on March 18th. This is the song we first heard from Britton’s discography and we really love it.
For 2023, Britton Rauscher released the single “GOHEAD” on June 9th – which was in collaboration with Young BootySpoon and Tamae. Followed by that single, he released “MEANTIME” on June 21st. His latest release “PICK UP” is from September 6th.

Oscar Sharah, also known as his artist name OSWRLD is a singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and producer. He made his debut on April 20th of this year with a mini EP titled moonboy. On this EP, he had three songs “Time aHead”, “Sauron’s Protest” and “ThAt’s CrayZ”. “Time aHead” is his most popular song with a little over 12.1K streams on Spotify.
Followed by the release of moonboy, he released “bikeboy” on June 22nd and “Cabaret (ft. Tom Sharah & Sal Sharah)” on July 13th. All of these singles released were pre-release tracks for his debut EP Family which came out on September 21st. His sound is super unique and chill and we can’t wait to hear what else he will release in the future.

Hiko Momoji is a producer, DJ and singer-songwriter. He made his debut on June 26th, 2016 with Howl which includes two songs “Mirage Island” and “Late Nights (feat. Father & Abra)”. His music is a blend of alternative music and Electronic music. Every single song of his has a very chill vibe to it hence why we featured him in this specific article.
He released a lot of songs throughout 2016-2021, but with the release of his song “Whole Ride” in June 2021, he gained a lot of attention. This song is his most popular song with over 2.3 million streams on Spotify. It’s also in collaboration with Nova and Nosgov. This song was also a pre-release track for his debut album Destination Unknown which came out on January 28th.
The song we like the most from Hiko Momoji’s discography is “white light” which came out on June 29th, 2022. This song is in collaboration with meat computer. This song has a very futuristic feel to it.
Hiko Momoji’s started the 2023 year off with the release of “Let U Go” with GAZAL in April 2023. Followed by that song, he released “Social Angst (Forever Remix)” with chi in June and “Endless Cycle” with Nova in August. His latest release “SOUR” is from September 8th and it’s a collaboration with SEBii.
