We are back with another blog that highlights emerging Asian artists. In this article, we will be sharing 6 Asian artists from all over the world. Each artist creates music in different genres so, hopefully you find yourself a new artist to listen to.

Sangstaa on ASIAN ARTISTS WE HIGHLY RECOMMEND TO LISTEN TO

Sangstaa is an R&B singer, songwriter and producer born and raised in South Korea with 9.4K monthly listeners on Spotify. In 2006, he moved to Raleigh, North Carolina and the last 4-5 years, he has been living in Los Angeles. He released his first single “Northside Baddie” to digital streaming on March 16th, 2017. On June 9th, 2019, he released the single “Rose Gold” which was a pre-release track for his debut album Rosé Pacé which came out on August 1st, 2019. His second album Paranoia came out on February 21st, 2020.

Sangstaa’s most popular song “Oops!” was released on January 6th, 2021 and currently has over 220K streams on Spotify. Following “Oops!”, Sangstaa released a lot of singles and his third album You’re All I Know.. on October 21st, 2022. His first release of 2023 is his latest release “She Knows” which came out last week on July 21st.

risy on ASIAN ARTISTS WE HIGHLY RECOMMEND TO LISTEN TO

risy is a jazz inspired pop singer from Hong Kong with 275 monthly listeners on Spotify. She released her first single “Colours” on October 23rd, 2021. On July 12th, 2022, she released her second single “Baby If I Were An Android”, followed by “Just For Two” on October 28th. “Just For Two” is her second most popular song with 2.3K streams and this song is also a collaboration with Alyssa.

Her first release of 2023 was “Then There’s You” which came out on April 27th. This song is in collaboration with uncomfortable twin. Her latest release is from yesterday and it’s titled “Say It Straight”.

Termula on ASIAN ARTISTS WE HIGHLY RECOMMEND TO LISTEN TO

Termula is a Filipino R&B singer, songwriter, producer and engineer with 10.3K monthly listeners on Spotify. He debuted on October 6th, 2020 with the single “Dozed Off”. He released quite a few singles during 2021 and in February 2022, he released the single “love in the open sky” – which is one of his popular songs with 129K streams on Spotify.

On May 20th, 2022, he released the single “waiting 4 u” in collaboration with Mhir. This is Termula’s second most popular song with a little over 507K streams on Spotify. “waiting 4 u” was a pre-release track for his debut album ATTACHMENT ISSUES which came out on August 19th, 2022.

His first release of 2023 was on February 17th for the song “syf”. This song is also his hit song with over 1.3 million streams. His latest release “don’t go” is from June 30th and it’s another collaboration with Mhir.

jun.e on ASIAN ARTISTS WE HIGHLY RECOMMEND TO LISTEN TO

jun.e is a Korean-American singer, producer and songwriter based in Seattle, United States with 613 monthly listeners on Spotify. He released his first single “i don’t mind” to digital streaming platforms on March 28th, 2022. This is currently his most popular song with 38.3K streams on Spotify. Followed by his debut, he released the single “fooled” in August 2022.

On February 28th, 2023, he appeared on the single “UR LIES” for ways of expression’s EP EXPRESSIONS*MEADOW LANE. Additionally, he appeared on “ONCE” for ways of expression’s second EP EXPRESSIONS*AURORA AVE.

His first solo release of 2023 is also his latest one and it’s titled “circles”. It came out on May 19th. jun.e is coming out with a new song on August 4th titled “my gf is on the other side of the globe rn” so, make sure to pre-save.

FIG on ASIAN ARTISTS WE HIGHLY RECOMMEND TO LISTEN TO

FIG is a Malaysian indie-pop/R&B singer and songwriter based in New York City with 112.5K monthly listeners on Spotify. She began writing music in high school. She debuted on March 9th, 2019 with the single “On My Side” which is a collaboration with Ondi Vil and Monty Datta. Followed by that release, she did a collaboration with Ondi Vil again for the single “Don’t Watch Me Cry” which happens to be her most popular song with almost 3 million streams on Spotify.

Another popular song of hers is titled “Ma Huggies” which was released in January 2020. This single has over 870K streams. “Ma Huggies” was a pre-release track for her debut EP Su Su which came out on March 6th, 2020. She released her second EP The Fluke on November 12th, 2020. She released a single in 2021 and then released her first full-length album BUD on November 3rd, 2022. This album consists of 8 songs and includes another one of her popular songs “Pair Of You” which has 657K streams.

Her first single of 2023 is her latest release “Seeking For Connection” which came out on May 18th.

rhyu on ASIAN ARTISTS WE HIGHLY RECOMMEND TO LISTEN TO

Raine Hahn Yu, known by her artist name rhyu is an Indie-Pop/Chill R&B singer with 50.6K monthly listeners on Spotify. She debuted on April 22nd, 2022 with the single “Melt” – which is her second most popular song with 380K streams on Spotify. Followed by the release of “Melt”, she released her second single “Love Quizzes” on November 11th, 2022.

For 2023, she released “It’s fine” on March 17th followed by a live version on May 26th. “It’s fine” is currently her most popular song with over 520K streams on Spotify.
