Welcome to our second blog in our “Behind The Beat’s Hidden Gems” series. This is a blog series where we will share a few artists that we recently discovered, loved and want to share so they receive more love and streams.
If you haven’t read our first part from May, check it out. This month we discovered so many new artists and will share our top 6 discoveries for the month. We cannot wait to follow them on their musical journey and see their growth.
Jiyul (지율) is a South Korean Indie-Rock/Folk singer with around 400 monthly listeners. She debuted on August 31st, 2021 with the single “Where Am I” – which is her most popular song with 10.8K streams on Spotify. Her next single “dry flower” released on July 25th, 2022. This is our favourite song from her discography and the song that we discovered her by.
Her third single “Fisherman” came out on February 3rd, 2023 followed by “What Should I Do?” in June. She ended 2023 off with the release of “Poured Heart” on October 6th.
Her first release of 2024 was “blue glue” on February 8th. Her latest release “no regrets” is from June 6th 2024.

Aiowell is a South Korean with around 8K monthly listeners on Spotify. He made his debut on January 2nd, 2023 with his debut EP *Sixteen.* Following his debut, he released “Closer” on February 21st. His most popular song “5 Minutes” came out on April 25th, 2023 and has over 128K streams on Spotify since its release. His last song of 2023 was in June and it was “Dive into” which was a collaboration with DAVII.
His only release so far for 2024 is “Embarrassed” which came out on April 6th. This was the song that we discovered Aiowell by.

soowoo (수우) is a South Korean producer, singer and songwriter with around 52K monthly listeners on Spotify. He made his debut on August 23rd, 2021 with the single “what should i do” which features dori. Following his debut, he released “what is on your mind?” on September 11th and “stay with me” on October 16th, both of which also feature dori.
On March 17th, 2022, soowoo released the single “Moonlight” featuring YooJeong. His next single release was ”All I Have” in May. This is his most popular song with over 1.4 million streams on Spotify alone. He also collaborated with Naive for the single “Drive Away” which released in October 2022 and GRAM for the single “All About You” which came out in December.
In 2023, he released a lot of singles, but our favourite songs from 2023 are; “Slow” which released in January, “Light” which came out in June and “Autumn to July” which released in November. This song was also featuring Sonny Zero.
So far for 2024, soowoo released one single “No Reservation” on May 12th and it also features Sonny Zero.

Luli Lee (이루리), also known as Lulileela is a singer, songwriter and producer under her own label Knight Airport which she established in 2023. She first debuted in January 2011 as the vocalist and bassist in the band Bye Bye Badman. In 2016, she joined the band Seoulmoon and then formed the duo LEEXLEE with Neowa in 2017. In 2018, she formed another duo called Lower with LENI. Finally debuting as a soloist on January 12th, 2018 with her debut EP *Rise From The Ashes.*
Following her solo debut, she released the single “Someday” in November 2018. In 2019, she released “Dive” in May and “Fantasy” in June. Both of these singles have over 1.2 million streams on Spotify. “Dive” was a pre-release track for Luli’s second EP Let Me Dive Into This Moment which came out on September 3rd, 2020.
On April 21st, 2021, Luli released the single “I Feel Your Love” which is her most popular song with over 1.4 million streams. Luli released her debut album *Fade Away Like A Dream* on October 23rd, 2022 and her third EP Phoenix in September 2023.
Her latest release is her only release of 2024 so far and it’s the single “You Are The Everything In My World” which came out on May 2nd, 2024. This is the song we discovered her with as it was featured in Spotify’s New Music K-Pop playlist.

Johnson is a singer-songwriter with around 34K monthly listeners on Spotify. We believe he is based in or around Thailand. On July 12th, 2019, he collaborated with Jordan Appercot, zeauk and The Legacy for the single “catalust.” Followed by that single, he collaborated with “ENOPE” on the single “Hold On To Me” which was released on October 18th, 2019.
On December 20th, 2019, Johnson made his official solo debut with the single “Cinnamon Sugar”. This was the first song we listened to of Johnson’s this month. It is also his most popular song with over 2.8 million streams on Spotify. In 2020, he released two singles; “Alone” in February and “411” with DonLeeBron in December. He released no music in 2021 and came back in 2022 with two singles; “Vivid” on April 8th and “Overdrive” on June 10th.
His next release “Interval Of Us” was on February 17th and it was a collaboration with Silver Lim. Both “Overdrive” and “Interval Of Us” were pre-release tracks for his debut EP Sleepless Mentality which came out on August 11th, 2023.
So far in 2024, Johnson released “If…” in February – which is our favourite song and “Route” in April. He also has a song coming out this Friday, June 28th titled “PULSE” and it’s a collaboration song with LANG.

Seen, also known as See Young is an artist we discovered this month through Instagram. We don’t know much about Seen except that he is under the label EXPRESSIONS*. He debuted this month on June 5th with *loverboiszn.* This mini EP includes two singles; “911/loverboi” which was our favourite of the two and “childs play interlude”.
We are excited to hear what else Seen will release in the near future and cannot wat to follow his musical journey.
