Welcome to our fourth blog in our “Behind The Beat’s Hidden Gems” series! This month we discovered a few new artists and will share our top 6 discoveries for the month in this article. We hope you end up liking one or all of the artists!
THEM is a all-girl pop-rock band from Seattle with around 41.2K monthly listeners on Spotify. THEM is an acronym for all of the members names; Thompson, Hudson, Ellie and Maia. They made their debut on June 4th, 2021 with the single “BAD 4 U”. Their next release was “Baby Please” in March 2022, followed by “She Says” in May and “Sunset Blvd.” in July. “Sunset Blvd.” is their most popular song with 510K streams on Spotify and also was a pre-release track for their debut EP the car ep which released on July 22nd, 2022.
In 2023, they released no music and returned on February 29th, 2024 with the single “Can’t Call It Mine”. Following that single, they released “Confused and Upset” in April and “Tip Toe” in May. These three singles were all included on their second EP Girls Mind which is their latest release from June 28th, 2024.
Since their debut, THEM has performed at major venues and festivals in Seattle including; The Paramount Theatre, Bumbershoot Music Festival and atop the Space Needle.
We discovered them towards the beginning of August because of our friend UM? who sent us their music. We absolutely love THEM’s vibe and cannot wait to follow their journey.

Jackson Marshall is an alternative artist from Texas, USA with around 152.3K monthly listeners on Spotify. He made his debut on June 9th, 2022 with the single “Runaway” with NiKala. Following his debut, he released “WALKING THRU FIRE” on July 29th, 2022.
On April 13th, 2023, he released the single “gone” followed by “makeup” in June, “dancing with a ghost” in July and “tattoos and jeans” in August. All three of these singles were pre-release tracks for his debut EP thrift stores near me which came out on September 29th, 2023. “makeup” is also his most popular song with over 860K streams on Spotify. Following the release of his EP, he ended the year off with the single “maybe” with NiKala on December 1st.
On January 26th, 2024, he released the single “with the wind”. In March, he released “train station”, followed by “lights” in April and “darling” in May. “darling” is the song we discovered him by through Instagram and is also his second most popular song with over 550K streams on Spotify. On July 26th, he released two singles “tell me girl” and “dangerous love”. He also has a new song called “fall” coming out sometime soon so, make sure to pre-save so you can listen when it’s out.

Chelsea Cara is a pop singer-songwriter from Singapore with around 2.8K monthly listeners on Spotify. Her music is in various genres including EDM, synth-wave, dance pop, and dark pop. On February 28th, 2020, she was featured on the single “Live On” with Foxela and Brittle Bear. In May, she collaborated with Foxela again for the single “wanted you so bad”. She had a lot of collaboration songs throughout 2020 and 2021. She made her official solo debut on July 28th, 2022 with the single “Walls”.
In May 2023, she had one release which was for the single “You Are My World” with Losca. On April 12th, 2024, she collaborated with Virgo’s Child for the single “Lose Myself”, followed by another collaboration with Foxela for the single “Hold On Tight” which came out in May.
Her latest single “sweet little dreams” released on July 26th. This single is the first leading single of her debut EP which is set to release at the beginning of 2025. We discovered Chelsea Cara through rae, who she is collaborating with for the single “would you ride for me?” which drops on August 30.

18 High is a South Korean singer and songwriter who lived in New Jersey for a while. He currently has around 2.2K monthly listeners on Spotify. He made his debut on April 29th, 2022 with the double single EP Magnolia which includes the songs; “I Don’t Know” featuring Shoi and “How to Love”. Following his debut, he released the single “Jay Park” on June 13.
On April 26th, 2023, he released a double single EP Hardly which includes the songs; “Obviously” with Shoi and B JYUN. and “SOS”. He then released “Closet” with Shoi in August. This is his most popular song with 67.9K streams on Spotify. Following, “Closet”, he released “Not enough” in November which was another collaboration song with Shoi. This is the first song we heard of 18 High last year, but we didn’t realize this until this month when we looked at his discography. His last release of 2023 was in December for the song “Slide” with Sof’boy Han.
On March 10th, 2024, he released the single “Brand New” with D2ear followed by “Risky” in July with Sof’boy Han. On August 10th, 18 High released the single “Lose Your Love” with K!ddingboi. This is the song that got us listening to 18 High and now we are fans. His latest release “My Bad” came out earlier this week on August 25.
18 High is so talented and we cannot wait to follow his musical journey and see his growth.

ANODE (애노드) is a South Korean producer duo consisting of Anlee and Blanc. They are signed to Mystic Story Entertainment (a subsidiary label of SM Entertainment). They currently have 2.8K monthly listeners on Spotify and debuted on April 17th, 2024 with the single “iMaGiNe#1 ‘Trouble’”.
Following their debut single, they released “iMaGiNe#1 ‘Trouble’ – Eng ver.” on June 5th, 2024. Their latest release is from July 29th with a double single EP titled *iMaGiNe #2* which includes the songs; “FINE” and “SILK ROAD”.
We discovered ANODE through an Instagram ad and we really love their music and cannot wait for more releases.

Yong-ho is an artist with around 18K monthly listeners on Spotify. He made his debut on March 21st, 2024 with the single “give me your heart”. Following his debut single, he released “I’m in love” on April 22nd. This is his most popular song with 57.5K streams on Spotify. This is also the song we discovered him by as it was featured in a “if you like wave to earth, listen to this” type of TikTok.
In May, he released the single “Second Love”, followed by “All the days” and “Flowers” with Sophia which both released on June 23rd. His latest single “Please wait” came out on August 12th, 2024.
