BRB.’S “IT'S COMPLICATED” TOUR IN TORONTO WITH KOVEN WEI & KUIPER

On September 18th, Singaporean R&B group brb. performed at The Axis Club in Toronto. This was their third stop on their first North American tour called “It’s Complicated”. Fans lined up as early as 5PM to get close to the front.
The night started off with an opening performance by kuiper, a Toronto based artist in the BAD KIDS collective with biosphere as the DJ. He performed his hit single “BLOOD ON THE FLOOR” which was our absolute favourite performance as kuiper was moving around on stage. He also performed a cover of “Cupid – Twin Ver” and a few other songs. This was kuiper’s first big performance and he absolutely did an amazing. From performing out of a U-Haul truck on a university campus to performing on stage at The Axis Club, kuiper’s confidence has definitely improved and his stage presence is so energetic and charming.

After kuiper’s set, Toronto based artist Koven Wei came on stage to perform songs from his latest EP BAMBINO. The crowd was having such an amazing time hearing Koven’s fan favourite songs such as; “EVERYTHING IS RED”, “LATE NIGHT TALKS” and “LIPSTICK”. This performance was Koven’s first time without Ethan Low by his side, but Ethan made a surprise appearance to perform his hit song “BUBBLY”, as well as “MIDNIGHT” which is a collaboration song between Koven, Ethan and 013. We have seen Koven and Ethan perform four times now. Even if we have seen the same songs each time, it just keeps getting better. Their stage presence and confidence development is so beautiful to see as time goes on and it’s even more special to see how fans love their music so much and how big their fanbase is.

brb. came on stage at 8 PM opening with their single “saint” from their 2021 album fleur. From the minute brb. walked on stage, to the minute they ended their concert, we were completely engaged the whole entire time. brb.’s stage presence is no joke, especially Auzaie Zie – his energy is next level. It was so fun to see all three of the boys just having so much fun on stage singing, dancing and even interacting with the fans that were at the front of the stage. Even just hearing brb. talk in between songs, you can tell how sweet and down to earth they are.
We have been fans of brb. since the release of “juice” in 2021 so, seeing that song live was so special and it’s also a fan favourite so the crowd was super pumped. Another one of ur all time favourite brb. songs is “heart shaped hickey” which was hands down the best performance of the night from the graphics on stage to the boys dancing to the crowd absolutely going wild and screaming the lyrics back at them.
Overall, from kuiper to Koven and Ethan to brb., the night was amazing and a complete success! It was so fun to see brb. and we hope they come back to Toronto soon again.
