“STILL BLUE” AFTER GEMINI PERFORMED IN TORONTO
BY BRENESSA ROACH | MARCH 20 2023
On March 16th, South Korean rapper, producer and singer GEMINI embarked on his North American tour by performing at The Axis Club in Toronto. Toronto was the first stop on his 12 city North American “Still Blue” tour. For this show, he was accompanied by FALLENS and the opening acts Koven Wei and Ethan Low.
This was my first time attending a show that starts the tour and it was definitely memorable. Going to the concert without knowing the setlist was very exciting because I didn’t know what to expect besides the songs on GEMINI’s latest album Still Blue.
Furthermore, this was also my first time attending a show at The Axis Club (formerly known as The Mod Club). The venue capacity is around 618 people and this show was almost sold out. Fans lined up super early just to secure a spot close to the stage.
Although being at this venue and seeing the start of the tour was the first time for me, it was not my first time seeing Koven Wei and Ethan Low.
Koven Wei kicked off the night with his 20 minute set accompanied by biosphere who was DJ’ing. Koven opened with a performance of his newest single “EVERYTHING IS RED” which had the audience dancing and some even singing along with him. For every single song, Koven’s energy was outstanding as he was dancing around to each side of the stage and engaging with the audience. He performed some unreleased songs and his song “Lipstick” was definitely a hit for the people around me. Additionally, he performed a cover of LØREN’s “All my Friends Are Turning Blue” and DPR IAN’s “Scaredy Cat”. I am a big fan of LØREN and DPR IAN so, these performances were so fun. Koven’s last performance was alongside Ethan Low and they did a remix of NewJean’s “Ditto”. Also, Koven is dropping a new song titled “BEFORE” featuring HNATA on March 24th so, make sure to pre-save.
Overall, Koven Wei is an amazing performer and he’s so sweet and funny on and off stage. Seeing him for the second time, I definitely can tell how much more engaging and confident he is now compared to when he performed at JUNNY’s BLANC tour in September 2022. Very excited to continue to support Koven and watch him grow even more as a friend and a fan.

After the combined performance of NewJean’s “Ditto” with Koven, Ethan Low began his 20 minute set alongside biosphere. Ethan opened with his newest single “GEMINI” that dropped at midnight (after the concert). The crowd really loved Ethan’s R&B/Chill style of music and a lot of people were really vibing with Ethan. Ethan was so energetic on stage and he was bouncing back and forth on either sides of the stage making sure to engage with every fan. As well, Ethan’s smile was so big throughout his performances he was literally radiating sunshine energy. He also performed his hit song “BUBBLY” which, wow the crowd went nuts. Everyone was singing along to this song especially at the chorus and honestly, I felt emotional seeing how happy Ethan was to hear that people were singing his song. Another crowd pleasing song was “Skintight” which is a collaboration with Korean R&B singer Jimmy Brown. The song has not been released yet, but will be releasing sometime in April, so stay tuned for that and make sure to follow Ethan for more updates.
To conclude, Ethan Low is an incredible performer and he’s also so sweet, funny and wholesome on and off stage. Just like Koven, he has gained a lot more confidence and is more engaging on stage compared to back in September 2022. I am also very excited to continue to support Ethan as a fan and a friend.

DJ FALLEN’s had his 20 minute set playing different songs and amping up the crowd for when GEMINI would come on. GEMINI came on at 8:30 PM opening with his song “Love Is Banned” which is the first song on his Still Blue album, and also is one of my all time favourite songs of his. Followed by “Love Is Banned”, he performed every single song on his Still Blue album which are the following 7 songs; “Bad”, “Do Me Right”, “Rollercoaster”, “Hola”, “More & More” and “a place we used to go”. Additionally, GEMINI performed some of his songs on his debut EP Inside Out and his debut singles “Broken Love”, “Going” and “Know Me”. His encore songs were “Broken Love” and “a place we used to go”. It was really exciting for me that he started the concert with my one favourite song “Love Is Banned” and ended it with my other favourite song “a place we used to go”.
Throughout the concert, GEMINI was so engaging with the crowd and he made sure that every side and the front of the stage were interacting with him. His dancing and his vocals were absolutely amazing. GEMINI has a lot of songs that are more on the chill side so, it was definitely interesting to see how he still managed to have the crowd going wild. I also want to point out that the graphics/animations during his set were SO beautiful and I loved that the ceiling had little screens with the visuals too.
For his first show on this tour, he absolutely killed it and I just know that with each city, his performances and confidence is going to grow even more. I highly suggest you go to his concert if you can. As well, listen to his whole discography because it is so diverse and he is really talented.
