Welcome to our third blog in our “Behind The Beat’s Hidden Gems” series. This has become one of our favourite series as we discover amazing new artists each month.
If you haven’t read our first and second part, make sure to check those out as well. This month we discovered so many new artists and will share our top 6 discoveries for the month. We cannot wait to follow them on their musical journey and see their growth and we hope you will join their journey too.
Arron Rebustes is a Filipino YouTuber and artist from the Philippines. He launched his YouTube channel in 2013, but posted his first cover in 2019 for the song ”Sunflower” by Rex Orange County. Since then, he has amassed over 470K subscribers.
He made his official debut on March 25th, 2022 with the single “Quiet Room” which has a little over 915K streams on Spotify. A year later in March 2023, he released his second single “bababye”.
So far for 2024, he released “loop” on February 23rd, followed by “the same” on March 15th. Both of these singles were pre-release tracks for his debut EP, Chasing Sunsets which released on April 19th, 2024. His next release is also his latest single from June 28th titled “Prom”.
We discovered Arron Rebustes this month through his cover of “Until I Found You” by Stephen Sanchez. Since his debut, he has amassed over 12K monthly listeners on Spotify and we cannot wait to see him grow more.

Haven is an R&B-Pop singer and songwriter from Singapore with around 8.5K monthly listeners on Spotify. On September 6th, 2019, she collaborated with Kyle Echarri for the single “Imagine”. She made her official solo debut at the age of 14 on December 6th, 2019 with the single “Piece of Paper”. Following her debut, she released “Blue” in April 2020 and “Ego” in September.
She did a few collaborations in 2021 and released nothing in 2022. She returned on January 27th, 2023 with the release of “Future Somebody”. On September 1st, she released the single “No Hard Feelings” which featured Denise Julia and WILD. This is her most popular single, amassing over 7.3 million streams and placing #6 on the Billboard Philippines chart.
Her first release of 2024 was “Ride or Die” on April 5th. This is the single which we discovered Haven by. She also released a new single “Easy” last Friday on July 19th.
We absolutely love Haven’s style and we cannot wait for the rest of her music to come out.

JOIE GREY is an Alternative Pop and R&B singer, songwriter and producer, born in Montgomery, Alabama and currently based in Atlanta. He made his debut on JUly 3rd, 2020 with his debut EP *Welcome To The World.* Followed by his debut, he released his first album *VIolet Major* on February 5th, 2021. In 2021 he also released three singles; “Still Be Friends” in June, “RESPAWN” in October and “Honest With U” in November.
On May 29th, 2022, he released the single “Untitled” which achieved internet success and amassed over 7.8 million streams since release. He also released “Rat Race” on July 22nd and “SILVER SURFER” on September 30th. He started 2023 off with the release of “All That Muscle” on March 3rd. He was very active with releases in 2023. His second most popular single with 84.5K streams. is “priorities” which came out on June 30th.
So far for 2024, JOIE GREY released the single “Story of Me” on January 30th, followed by the release of his EP Special on February 13th. On March 22nd, he released the single “when I grow up” which is the song we discovered him by this month. He released a few more singles after this song. His latest release is “castle in the sky (Cloud 900)” from June 28th. Since his debut, he has gained over 85.5K monthly listeners on Spotify and we think he will continue to gain more.

Alice Aera is an R&B/Soul singer, songwriter and producer who currently has around 39.7K monthly listeners on Spotify. She made her debut on January 24th, 2020 with the single “Like That”. Following her debut, she collaborated with Rauziel for the single “Feelings”. She did not release any music in 2021 and returned on June 19th, 2022 with the single “Godspeed”.
Her next single “Damage” came out on March 30th, 2023. This is the song we discovered her by this month. It’s also her most popular song with almost 400K streams on Spotify. Following the release of “Damage”, she released a few more singles in 2023; “Stuck On You” in May, “Emotionally Unavailable” with Khalil in June, “You and I” with Majo in October. She ended 2023 off with the release of “Sweetest Mistake” with PLVTO in October – which is her second most popular song with 300K streams.
Alice Aera’s first single of 2024 “Eyes Wide Shut” came out on February 1st, followed by the single “Hard” on March 8th. Both of these singles were included on her debut album Between Spaces which came out on July 12th.

David Austin is a Filipino singer currently based in California. He made his debut on May 12th, 2023 with the single “feelinlone” which is his most played song with 9.1K streams on Spotify. Following his debut, he released the single “one to love” on October 18th.
His first and latest single of 2024 is from June 14th and is titled “fadinout”. This is the song we discovered him by. Though David only has 3 songs out right now, he has great music and an average of 2.1K monthly listeners on Spotify. We are so happy to have discovered him this month and cannot wait to hear his new songs and see his growth.

Maleka is an Egyptian-American R&B singer and songwriter based in Los Angeles. Her music is a unique blend of Arabic music, R&B, Indie Pop, Jazz and Hip-Hop. She currently only has one song out right now and it’s her debut song “time” which released on May 15th. Since her debut, she has amassed over 30.8K streams on her single and almost 2K monthly listeners on Spotify.
She has a new song coming out on August 16th, titled “control”, so make sure to –pre-save. We are so excited to hear this song and cannot wait to follow her musical journey.
