HOJEAN PERFORMS IN TORONTO ON “TO CHERIE, WITH LOVE” TOUR WITH KEVIN HOLLIDAY

On October 5th, Atlanta based Korean-American Indie-Pop/Alternative R&B singer Hojean performed at The Opera House in Toronto. This was his third stop on his North American tour “TO CHERIE, WITH LOVE” which started on September 29th in New York.

We lined up around 5:30PM for doors at 7PM and actually made it all the way to the front of the stage.

The night started off at 8PM with an opening performance by New York based artist Kevin Holliday, accompanied by his pianist KEIZO and his drummer Jacques Smith Jr. Kevin played some of his popular songs such as; “Regrets”, “Tennis Courts”, “Dynamite” and “Liar!”. He also performed some songs which will be coming out in January. Additionally, he also performed his latest song “UH-HUH” which came out on September 27th right before the tour started.

Kevin was such an amazing performer and his band really added to the whole atmosphere. All three of them together were so lively and had the crowd so amped and dancing along, even if they had never listened to Kevin prior to this night. After seeing Kevin live, we are definitely fans of him now.

Hojean came on at 9PM and performed until around 10:15PM. He played a few songs with his electric guitar, and as well was singing without it. He has such a beautiful voice and an amazing performer. Throughout the show, he made sure to interact with the left, right and centre of the stage and even taking fans phones to film videos on stage.

Hojean is also super funny which was show in between songs when he would interact with fans and even did a little skit promoting Kim Kardashian’s new drink. Hojean performed some of his most popular songs such as; “Over 85”, “Comin’ Through” and “You Ain’t Gotta”. He also performed every song on his latest EP Cherie which came out on September 22nd.

Our favourite performances of the night was probably “Over 85” and “9 to 5” – two of our all time favourite songs by Hojean.

Going to his concert was a last minute decision, but we are so glad we went as we had so much fun and we are such big fans of Hojean. We cannot wait till he comes back again next time!
