Singaporean, Boston based artist hongjoin releases new single “Serotonin”. Since hongjoin’s debut on August 28th, 2021 with “The Last Time”, he has gained over 48K monthly listeners on Spotify and earned playlist placements on Spotify RADAR. Earlier this year in May, the 22-year old artist released his sophomore album *KOMOREBI.* This new single “Serotonin” is the summer addition to the deluxe version of the album.

“Serotonin” is an upbeat yet dreamy and melancholic track produced by hongjoin himself. It’s a song that “explores the themes of emotional dependency and chasing happiness amidst a sea of fleeting highs and lows.” says hongjoin. The lyrics– “Everybody’s looking for something / Chasing for a better way to make it right / But you came at a perfect time / Addicted to serotonin”–perfectly capture the themes of this song.

Prior to the release of this single, hongjoin performed this song on tour in the U.S, as well as in Singapore during his opening act for Ricky Montgomery and his solo headline show. He even posted the demo to SoundCloud and listeners have been awaiting the release for months. The final version also features vocals from Singapore’s pop-princess Regina Song.
