Welcome back to part 2 of the blog series “If You Like Wave To Earth, Listen To These Artists”. In part 1, we shared 6 artists and you all really liked that article, so we are going to continue posting more artists in the bedroom pop/indie pop/indie rock genre. If you haven’t read part 1, check it out here.
Just for a little background information, Wave To Earth is a South Korean indie-pop based band consisting of; Daniel Kim (singer-songwriter), Dong Kyu Shin (drummer) and John Cha (bassist). Their sound is a blend of indie-pop, soft-rock, lofi and jazzy style drumming. They have gained a lot of attention in the past year, especially for their song “seasons” which is very popular on TikTok. (Source: Part 1).

J.Y.N (Just Your Name) is a Korean-American, songwriter producer and multi-instrumentalist based in Chicago, United States. His music ranges from bedroom pop wave to alternative rock with elements of Blues and Punk Rock. He debuted on January 23rd, 2021 with the single “Hard to Love Reflections”. This is his most popular song with over 2 million streams on Spotify alone. Followed by his debut, he released his second single “She’s a Star” on December 3rd, 2021.
On August 26th, 2022, he released the single “Antidote” which was a pre-release track for his debut EP For Fuchsia which came out on September 2nd, 2022. On November 10th, 2023, he released the single “Legacy” which was track one on his second EP Bittersweet which released on November 17th, 2023. This is his most recent release, but hopefully we can expect some new music soon. Additionally, J.Y.N recently performed at The Canopy Club.

87dance is an alternative rock band from South Korea. The group is under Stoneship and consists of four members; Lee Jeongyeol (Drummer), Park Seongho (Guitarist), Choi Junyoung (Bassist) and BETHEBLUE (Vocalist, Guitarist and plays Synthesizer). 87dance formed in 2017 and debuted two years later on June 27th, 2019 with their debut EP Palchilldance. Followed by their debut, they released the single “Inkwater” on November 15th, 2019. This was a pre-release track for their second EP Virtual Love which came out on April 3rd, 2020.
In June 2021, they released the single “너와 나 사이에 띄어쓰기 Distance” followed by “And other days” in July and “Ghosts are bored” in August. All three of these songs were included on their third EP Soldout smile which came out on January 6th, 2022. This EP also includes “사프란 Saffron” which is one of our favourite songs. They ended 2022 with the release of a double single “city snail” and “a night person” in October.
On January 9th, 2023, they released the single “even if fall into a fail”. This song was track one on their first album COLOR PAPER HOTEL which came out on January 30th, 2023. Followed by their album release, they dropped the single “BLUETOKYO” in August.This is another one of our favourite songs and we actually featured it in our Monthly Mixtape for August 2023. Their recent release is from November 2023 and it was for the single “A WINTER BLANKET”.

PRYVT (pronounced as “private”) is a Korean indie duo consisting of Korean-Canadian artist hanuel and Indonesian artist HNATA. PRYVT debuted on August 4th, 2023 with the single “tell me, will we survive?”. This is their most popular song with over 1.7 million streams just on Spotify. Following their debut, they released “I can’t go home, anymore” which is our all time favourite song of theirs so far.
On November 20th, 2023, they released their third single “blue salvia” which is such a pretty and sweet song. The cover art is also beautiful. Their latest release is from December 2023 and it’s for the single “mona lisa” – which is another one of our favourites so far.
So far for 2024, they have a new song coming out on Valentine’s Day titled “IF ITS NOT YOU” which you can pre-save here. Hopefully in 2024, we can expect an album and maybe even some tour dates/live shows.

cykim is a Korean-American Indie R&B artist from the East Coast. He debuted on February 3rd, 2023 with the single “saidyouwouldholdme”. Followed by his debut, he released “if i let go” in June and “dreams about you” in August.
On December 7th, 2023, he released the single “stars burn out” which was in collaboration with justin. This is his most popular song with over 225K streams on Spotify. He also has a new song called “ocean tide” coming out this Friday, February 9th. It’s in collaboration with ainvyu and justin and you can pre-save it here.

Jong Lee, also known by his artist name Peach Luffe (pronounced as Peach Loo-Fee) is a South Korean bedroom pop artist based in Toronto, Canada. He was born in Seoul, South Korea, raised in Buffalo, New York and later moved to Canada after graduating from University. He debuted on August 16th, 2019 with the single “On My Side” followed by “Driving Away” and “Paralyzed” in August. On July 29th, 2020, Peach Luffe released his debut album Shimmer. He ended 2020 with the release of his EP titled Bloom in November, 2020.
In May 2021, he released his second EP Evergreen followed by his third EP Beyond in January 2022. His last release of 2022 was his second album Everything is Peachy which came out on October 21st.
Peach Luffee started 2023 off with the release of his single “Ocean”. Following that release, he released “After All” in February and “Notice Me” in March. These three singles were pre-release tracks for his third album Fish Bowl which came out on April 21st, 2023. This album is one of our personal favourites. In May 2023 for Asian Heritage Month, Spotify featured Peach Luffe on a billboard in Toronto’s Dundas Square. In October 2023, he released “Say It Back” and ended 2023 with the release of “Quite Like You” in November.
So far for 2024, Peach Luffe released the single “Honeymoon” on January 19th. He also opened for Sarah Kang in Toronto recently. He has a new single called “Honeybee” coming out this Friday, February 9th and you can pre-save it here.

mitsume is a Japanese band that formed in 2009 consisting of Moto Kawabe (Guitarist/Vocalist), Mao Otake (Guitarist), Yojiro Suda (Drummer) and nakayaan (Bassist). They debuted in 2011 with their debut album mitsume. They released an album every year pretty much until 2016. Since then, they released a few singles and a few albums. Their collection of songs is so large and with time they have improved their sound.
Their recent release is from May 17th, 2023 and it was for their EP *ドライブ EP* (Drive). We discovered mitsume quite recently because of their song “睡魔” (Sleepy) which is the fifth track on their 2021 album VI.
