Cannot believe this is the last monthly mixtape of 2023! December was a good month for music, just as every month is. This article, I have 11 songs to share that I loved throughout this month. Some of these songs were not released in December, but I discovered them or listened to them a lot this month. Hope you discover some new songs out of this article too.

“fake friend” is a song that I discovered at the end of November through Spotify I believe. I absolutely love the kind of rock-ish vibes to it. I had never heard of nothing,nowhere. before this song, but they have so many listeners. I definitely will be deep diving into their discography in the next few weeks, but for now this song will forever be on repeat.

NIve is an artist I casually listen to, but most songs I’ve heard I like. However, this song in particular was stuck in my head throughout the month of December. It’s so beautiful and it’s a perfect, cozy song for cold weather. I also love the cover art. The vibes in this song make me feel very nostalgic.

“what u do” is a collaboration I didn’t know I needed. I absolutely love the vibes of this song and I think HOHYUN and Orion Song’s voices go so well together. This song is so catchy and the lyrics are really beautiful as well. In the future, I hope these two collaborate more.

Odeal is an artist I discovered at the end of November through another artist’s Instagram story (I forget which artist but shout out to them). This song “Bedroom Weather” puts you in your feels, but it’s also such an old school type of R&B song. Love the vibes and love Odeal’s warm vocals.

Now, I am a big fan of USHER’s music so, this collaboration was fantastic to me. As it is, I love the original version, but with USHER’s verse, it just made me love this song even more. I never thought of USHER and Jung Kook collaborating, but I think their vocals go well together.

Kodoku is an artist I have been listening to since earlier this year. This song is definitely one of my favourites because of the tempo and vibes of it. It’s very much slower than other Kodoku songs, but I think the title “Insomnia” fits the vibe of the song as in, it’s a song you would listen to while laying in bed at night.

Griff is an artist I discovered this year and I really love her music. I have become such a big fan of her because of her productions, lyrics and voice. This song is so beautiful and I just love the meaning of it. The live performance video as well was so beautiful.

This song is so beautiful and it shows a lot of MICO’s emotions and feelings of being in his twenties. I think it’s more meaningful as well because he released it on his birthday. This was just the perfect song to listen to two days before my birthday as well because I could relate to some aspects of the song.

“mona lisa” is a beautiful Korean indie vibe song! I love PRYVT and I think their projects and songs are so interesting and beautiful. Also, their cover arts are just so pretty. I love the vibes of this song and the lyrics as well.

Rangga Jones is an artist I really like and this song in particular on his new album is so good! This song was constantly stuck in my head and I am still replaying it over and over. I just love the R&B but upbeat vibe it and I think his vocals are great!

This was the perfect wintery song that I needed to end the year off with. Although there is no snow in Toronto right now, this song made me feel so festive and cozy. I love the warm and nostalgic feeling of this song. As well, the chorus lyrics are so catchy.
