On January 9th, 2024 at midnight, Los Angeles based boy band Townewest released their first single of 2024 titled “Minimal” featuring maxime.

“Minimal” is an upbeat and catchy song that blends the genres hyperpop, alternative and chill. When asked about the song, Townewest says, “’Minimal’ is about feeling drained, but still wanting that familiar love. The familiar love where you are used to the bad things, but double downing and saying these are also reasons to love someone because it’s boring if it’s not that. ‘Minimal’ in all aspects good and bad could be a reason to be with someone.”

This song is produced by Charlie Johnstone. Jonum of Townewest says, “the beat encompasses an upbeat, hyperpop feel. The blend of complex drum patterns with our simple vocal melodies and glitches creates a cozy yet futuristic sound.”

With the release of “Minimal”, Townewest really wanted to throw their fans a curveball with this single and hope it keeps familiar feelings close.
