In this article, we will be sharing 5 Asian up & coming artists who have below 100K monthly listeners on Spotify. All of these artists fall under different genres and sounds, but they all have the potential to grow and we want them to grow this year. Ashavari on Up & Coming Asian Artists Pt. 2 | 100K AND BELOW

Current Monthly Listeners: 2.5K

Ashavari is an Indian-Canadian singer and songwriter based in Toronto, Canada. She released her first song titled “Pink Afternoon” to digital streaming platforms on October 18th, 2019. Her next single was “Frustrated” which came out in November 2020. This song is her second most popular song with a little over 4.6K streams. She also released “Sweeter” on August 13th, 2021. Both “Frustrated” and “Sweeter” were pre-release tracks for her debut EP BitterSweet which came out on November 12th, 2021.

In 2022, she released two singles; “In The Deep” and “No Angel”. On March 31st, 2023, she released the single “Feel The Same” which is a collaboration with R&B artist from Seattle, Dante Riverz. Followed by that, she released “Regina” in May which is a collaboration with Simon Servida. “Regina” is Ashavari’s most popular song with over 21.8K streams on Spotify.

Her latest release “Losing My Composure” is from June 2nd. She also performed at Desi Fest in Toronto during the week of June 1st to 5th.

riensu on Up & Coming Asian Artists Pt. 2 | 100K AND BELOW

Current Monthly Listeners: 6.3K

riensu is a Filipino-American artist from Seattle, Washington. His music is a blend of pop, R&B and Bossa Nova. He made his debut to digital streaming platforms on October 10th, 2022 with the single “time” – which is a collaboration with Itsatrill. riensu released a few more singles after “time” including; “my dear” and “focus”. He also released “losin’ control” which has over 12.4K streams on Spotify.

He started off the 2023 year by releasing the single “if i fall” which is a collaboration with ri4h. This single is his most popular song with over 54.4K streams. riensu released a lot of singles at the beginning of 2023. On April 28th, he released his first EP wrong side which consists of 5 singles.

His latest release “silly little love” is from June 30th. Additionally, he has a double single EP you got me coming out on the 28th which includes the singles; “you got me” and “take my hand”. You can pre-save the single here.

Keydom on Up & Coming Asian Artists Pt. 2 | 100K AND BELOW

Keydom is a Vietnamese and Serbian singer, rapper and producer born and raised in Germany. Keydom gets inspiration from Korean R&B artist DEAN and New York drill rapper Pop Smoke, which makes his creations have a unique blend. He made his debut on February 11th, 2022 with the single “Overthinking”. Followed by that song, he released “Perfume” in August 2022. This is our personal favourite song and Keydom’s second most popular song with over 32.3K Spotify streams.

Keydom’s most popular song with 163.4K streams is “Rendezvous” which was released on November 17th, 2022. This song is a collaboration with his friend and Korean-American artist Aleebi.

In 2023, Keydom released a song titled “CAR” on March 3rd. This song was in collaboration with AidEn and EXPOSITION, the collective Keydom is affiliated with. On March 25th, Keydom opened for JUNNY’s Blanc tour in Berlin. His latest release is titled “MORE TIME” and it’s a collaboration with England singer-songwriter and rapper Shoku. This was released on June 2nd.

Asher Alexander on Up & Coming Asian Artists Pt. 2 | 100K AND BELOW

Current Monthly Listeners: 99

Asher Alexander is an independent R&B and Pop Trap artist from Penang, Malaysia. He is currently managed by his older brother Andrew. He debuted on March 11th, 2022 with the single “Haunt Me”. This is his most popular song with almost 10K streams. In June 2022, he released his next single “Dreams”. His last release for 2022 was in September and it was the song “Guilty // Bittertaste”.

His latest and first release of 2023 is his debut album Crimson. This album consists of 10 songs and includes his three releases from 2022. The album also has a song titled “Crimson” which is another fan favourite and is also a collaboration with Hannn.

Gabe Watkins on Up & Coming Asian Artists Pt. 2 | 100K AND BELOW

Gabe Watkins is an Australian-Thai indie-pop and alternative singer-songwriter based in Bangkok, Thailand. Gabe released his first song “One Summer” to digital streaming platforms on July 29th, 2021 followed by “Blue Skies” in October 2021. “Blue Skies” is his third most popular song with 152.4K streams.

Gabe signed to What the Duck music records and “officially” debuted on August 25th, 2022 with the single “Flowers From Japan”. This is his most popular song with over 366K streams. His second most popular song is “Sunsets” which was released in November 2022 and has over 255K streams.

For 2023, he released his first single “choose you everytime” on February 23rd. Followed by the release of “choose you everytime”, he released “the rush” on April 27th and “Feels Like Home” on June 20th.
