Happy end of January!! The month went by so so fast. This month there were a lot of songs we loved, but we had to narrow it down to the ones that were stuck in our head the most. A few of these songs are from the end of 2023 that we discovered in January and the rest of the songs released throughout the month of January.
In order of release date, here are our top 10 songs for January 2024:
Release Date: November 24th, 2023
I came across this song three weeks ago while I was scrolling on TikTok and from the little snippet, I got the song stuck in my head and had to look it up. Since then, I have had it on repeat and it even made it into my top 10 Spotify receipt for the month. I love the production and lyrics of the song. It’s a very fun indie-pop song and also has nostalgic vibes to it. Prior to this song, I had never listened to Jude York, but I definitely am excited to hear more of their music this year.

Release Date: December 7th, 2023
As a big fan of USHER, I immediately listened to this song when it dropped and it did not disappoint – especially since it’s a collaboration with H.E.R. I absolutely love the vibes and lyrics of this song. The vocals and harmonies are so beautiful and calming. I have yet to see the movie The Color Purple, but I have heard amazing things about it and this soundtrack makes me want to see it as soon as possible.

“Dare You” is such a beautiful song by rei brown. I love the production and genre of this song. It’s got elements of R&B, but also electronic and it’s overall just a song that is very pleasant to the ears. Since the release in December, I have had this song on repeat and it always puts me in a good mood.

This collaboration was one I didn’t know I needed. I love UMI’s music and Tae’s solo music is always right up my alley and together these two made the perfect R&B/Chill song. I absolutely love their vocals together and this song is so beautiful.

Release Date: January 5th, 2024
PRETTY HAVØC is someone I started listening to this month because the owner of keshiupdates posted about this song on his story when it released. After listening to it, I literally had this song stuck in my head and would be singing it constantly. I think it’s such a fun, alt-pop song infused with elements of rock and hyper-pop. Definitely, I have become a fan of PRETTY HAVØC’s music and will be featuring him soon.

BAD !DEA is a group I have been following on TikTok since around November when they started teasing this song. I immediately reached out to them and found out a release date and was so excited for January 5th to come. This song is such a beautiful R&B style song and I love the contrast between each singers voice. We actually did a press coverage for this song which you can read here. We cannot wait to hear what else BAD !DEA will release this year.

This was another song I was so so excited about. I discovered bren’s music in early 2023 and this was his return to music since 2022. It was definitely worth the wait. I love the indie pop style with R&B elements and I think bren’s voice is really beautiful. He also released “NEED U” with this release and it’s great too. Really excited for more music from bren this year.

This song is one that I heard of through my friend Kennen who posted this song on his story. Thank goodness he did because I am now a fan of Dingani. Dingani is so underrated, but their music is amazing and so unique and comforting. Their voice is incredible as well. I definitely will be featuring Dingani again on our site.

After 9 months, my queen IU is back. I am a huge fan of IU and I think her music and artistry is incredible and beautiful. With this comeback “Love wins all” she released a cinematic music video featuring V from BTS and it was so beautiful. The music video portrayed so many different emotions and both her and V’s acting were phenomenal. Besides the music video, the song itself is so emotional and her vocals are so light and soulful.

Kamal. is one of my favourite artists and this song is probably one of my favourite releases in a while. This song just hit and I think it’s beautiful. I love the piano chord progression and how it’s so sweet sounding, but has such a deep meaning. Kamal. is so talented and I hope I can see him live one day.
